After being self and home-taught in conjury, Adi completed conjury training at Stillglade Fane in record time, though his instructors cautioned his bedside manner. After several years working as a healer for the Ashen Enclave (and then the Tangled Boughs), Adi decided to further pursue academia at the Studium with the Faculty of Medicine. In Sharlayan he does laboratory assistant work, aids professors, and pursues his thesis on a certain blood-born illness.

When he's not at work, Adi looks like he'd rather be sleeping. He slouches and trudges as though the air weighs too heavy on his bony shoulders. The dark circles beneath his eyes aren't just from make up.Social situations fill Adi with dread and anxiety. He isn't shy so much as he is awkward. If he can only forget that he is awkward, he tends to warm up a bit. He often comes off as harsh or rude. He lacks a social filter, or perhaps it's more fair to say he sees no point in filtering himself. Thus his bad moods and strong convictions often come to the surface.Above all, Adi is almost painfully sincere: whether he's gloomy, heated, or experiencing a rare moment of joy, he's bound do show it on his face. Whether he speaks in an awkward, stammering whisper or raises his voice to loudly criticize, one can sense his honesty.When Adi is working, he is energized, calm, and kind. While he can be direct, his frustrations rarely show through. In practice, Adi is aware he can temper his words and be considerate outside of work. He seems to forget how to do this the moment he sheds his healer's robes.Adi is more conscious of his appearance than he admits, choosing to neatly maintain his hair and goatee. His black make up is messily applied and frequently smudged. His skin tone is a blue-tinged gray. When he blushes, a shade of indigo creeps up from the back of his neck to the tips of his ears.Adi favors a wide-brimmed black capeline to keep the rain off. There is a faintly earthy scent to him, a film of mossy grime that never quite seems to wash off. It could be all the mud on his boots, though he takes care to wear separate ones when he is working. He maintains a high standard of cleanliness on the job, after all.Yet even when he's working there's something sickly about his energy. Adi feels like a plant that's struggling to thrive in an unsuitable environment, or one suffering some parasite. It seems he frequently suffers from fatigue and other ailments. He chooses not to hide his dead eye nor the black, obvious scar the surrounds it. He uses this eye to channel aethersight: it glows faintly blue-white when in use, and he usually covers his 'good' eye to do it.Adi wields a conjurer's cane with a white lily at the crook. His beneficial spells are especially precise and powerful. With the aid of his aethersight, he is able to perform many difficult and unusual healing tasks. You have never seen him cast an offensive spell.

Plot Hooks

  • Do you need a healer? The most obvious hook. Adi helps anyone who needs healing, no questions asked. It is his passion to provide care without cost.

  • Do you need help? Adi is gloomy and cranky because he feels the injustices of this star quite strongly. He believes in doing all he can to right it, whether it is standing up for someone in a bad situation or buying a hot meal. Hells, he's probably been scammed more than once by someone asking for help.

  • Are you studying in Old Sharlayan? Adi is currently part of the Faculty of Medicine in Sharlayan. He drives his roommate crazy staying up all night smoking moko and listening to death metal. He mostly hangs out with the weirdos who study parasites, psychedelics, and weird plants, bugs and fungus, but it's also possible to find him in the library.

  • Do you know the Lamoureauxs? If you are a Duskwight or Keeper who lived in the Black Shroud prior to the Calamity, you may know Adi's father, Telesphore, and his son, Telesphoriade. Telesphore transformed the reputation of the reclusive, suspicious, magic-obsessed Lamoureaux family into one of trustworthiness with his charm, warmth and acts of service to needy communities. Telesphore was such a pillar of the community that old notions of the power-hungry Lamoureauxs faded. Telesphore provided healing free of charge, aided by his son just as soon as the child was old enough to know his letters. These visits have lessened over the years, but some may still remember the healer boy known as Telesphoriade, or the star-like quality of his father Telesphore. Some Duskwights may even hear tell of a rumor that the Lamoureauxs returned to elusiveness during the Final Days...

Role-Playing Expectations

  • PLEASE BE AN ADULT: YOU MUST BE OVER 18 TO PLAY WITH ME. This is non-negotiable, I only want to play with adults. I prefer my RP connections to be adult professionals with a few years of experience RPing. I also expect reasonable, mature behavior from my fellow RPers.

  • PLEASE BE TIMELY: If we have RP scheduled, please try and be on time. I don't really care if people are a few minutes late, RL happens, but if it's more than 20 minutes or so please let me know. If you stand me up for a scene without an explanation I'll probably drop you. Same goes if you're frequently very late or frequently reschedule.

  • PLEASE BE FAIR: No one wants to be the "loser" of a scene. Remember that my character is a person too, they're not just here to react or comfort or otherwise prop up your character. Let's make sure both of our characters feel as if their contributions are important.

  • PLEASE CONSIDER THE CONSEQUENCES: The addage IC actions = IC consequences hold true. If your character is rude and offensive, aggressive or otherwise disruptive, my character will respond and form opinions accordingly. Most negative interactions cannot be walked back with a justified explanation after the fact - my characters tend to be rather principled on that matter. Also, while things can always come up spontaneously, if the scene suddenly shifts in tone from what we discussed, that may be cause for OOC discussion.
